"Mrs Eunice MacDonald Allbee, a registered nurse and onetime supervisor of the nursing staff at St. Joseph's Hospital, died last night in her home at 18 Coyle Place after a long illness. She was the wife of Clarence C. Allbee of the composing room staff of The Herald Statesman. Born in Lourdes, N.S., Canada, Mrs. Allbee came to the United States in 1921 to enter nurses training school of St. Joseph's Hosp. in Yonkers. After her graduation she served there for a time as supervisor of the nursing staff and later went into private practice. She was married here to Mr. Allbee on Sept 1, 1929 and practiced little after that. In W.W. II, however, Mrs. Allbee returned to St. Joseph's Hosp. to give her services voluntarily. She was a Communicant of the Church of St. Denis. Surviving Mrs. Allbee besides her husband are a sister, Mrs. Thomas J. O'Sullivan of New Glascow, N. S., three brothers, Dan P. MacDonald, New Glascow, William B., Lourdes and Roderick J. of Detroit, Michigan and several nieces and nephews.1 |
